Electoral Services Manager

Salary: Up to £42,942 per annum (dependent on experience) 

37 hours per week with additional requirements over the election period (with additional allowances and overtime). We also welcome applications from those candidates interested in flexible working

Do you want a key management role at the heart of democracy? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you at North Hertfordshire District Council.

We are looking for someone with a positive and adaptable approach who is innovative and able to perform under pressure.  In this role you will work in conjunction with the Returning Officer to plan, manage and successfully deliver  Parish, District, County Council, Parliamentary, Police & Crime Commissioner elections and Referenda.

You will need experience of dealing with the canvass and Election Registration process and will lead the delivery of initiatives which encourage the engagement of local people in the democratic process.

The successful candidate will manage the Electoral Services Team, ensuring the delivery of high quality and professional electoral services for the Council. Significant knowledge of the law and practice relating to Electoral Registration and Elections is key to this role.
