Christmas close down For many office based services, the offices are closed between Christmas and New Year. 
Those who must work during this time receive equivalent annual leave entitlement to take at another time.

Holiday entitlement Generous holiday entitlement starting with 29 days per year, plus bank holidays and increases depending on your grade and length of service 
Sick pay from day 1 Occupational sick pay entitlement is available from the start of your employment for up to 1 month, which increases with your length of service.

Employee Assistance programme  Exceptional support and advice which helps employees, and close family members, with workplace changes as well as other work, family and personal issues.
Eye test vouchers For users of display screen equipment, we offer a voucher which can be exchanged for a free eye test at SpecSavers
Flexi-time policy As part of the Council's support for work-life balance, our flexi-time scheme allows you to bank any additional hours worked and take the time back at a time that suits you, subject to service needs
GP Helpline service Providing 24/7 free of charge access to a GP consultation service by phone or video call.
Herts Careline Staff Discount 5% discount on the Careline service for NHC staff with parental caring responsibilities.
