Personal Searches

A personal search is an inspection of the Local Land Charges Register and can be carried out by any member of the public, a solicitor or a personal search agent.

An electronic extract of the Local Land Charges register will be provided at no cost. It is the responsibility of the person carrying out the personal search to identify the land/property and to check the information held on the Register. The Council does not have an obligation to answer any supplementary enquiries when a person is carrying out a personal search on a property.

How to submit a personal search

Searches can be submitted through our Public Access for Local Land Charges (PALC) system.
