Don’t lose your voice - residents in North Herts urged to look out for their voter registration details from NHDC

Local residents are being warned not to lose their voice on decisions that affect them by making sure their electoral registration details are up to date.

With elections scheduled to take place in North Herts in May 2021, this is an important opportunity for residents to make sure they can take part.

The annual canvass ensures that North Herts District Council (NHDC) can keep the electoral register up to date, identifying any residents who are not registered so that they can be encouraged to do so. They would then be able take part in any future elections.

Howard Park and Gardens Play Areas Consultation – have your say

The play areas at Howard Park and Gardens in Letchworth are set to have an upgrade, and we need your views on how they could be improved.

North Herts District Council (NHDC) and Groundwork East* are inviting residents to complete a short online survey. This is an opportunity for local people, particularly parents, to identify potential improvements and help shape the future of the play areas for their children. Following the results of the consultation, Groundwork will begin the process of preparing detailed designs for the play areas.

NHDC urges park visitors not to be litter tossers

New hard-hitting anti-litter posters are being put up in North Hertfordshire’s parks and green spaces telling litter droppers, ‘Don’t be a tosser’.

The posters are North Herts District Council’s (NHDC) response to a recent deluge of littering in parks and green spaces in the district, which have been heavily used by residents during the coronavirus outbreak.

North Herts leisure centres and indoor pools get ready to reopen

North Herts District Council (NHDC) and SLL are pleased to announce that the final preparations are being made to their leisure centres and indoor pools in Hitchin, Letchworth and Royston to make sure that they are safe for customers and staff to return on 25 July 2020.

There will be a number of changes within the centres to ensure that customers feel comfortable and safe and can use the facilities in complete confidence. These include one way systems and signage to guide customers on how to act safely and responsibly.

Leisure centres, splash parks and playgrounds set to reopen in North Herts

North Hertfordshire District Council (NHDC) is set to reopen its playgrounds, leisure centres and splash parks in the coming weeks.

Firstly, all NHDC owned playgrounds will reopen from Monday 20 July, after a review of the Government guidance on their reopening. Hand sanitisers will be provided at each site and these will be checked daily, however playground users are strongly encouraged to bring their own sanitisers.

Healthy Hub North Herts, a free health and wellbeing service, is now back to doing what it does best – helping residents get back on track with their healthy lifestyle.

In recent months the Hub has focused on supporting individuals to access food, medication and financial support during the coronavirus pandemic. However, as things are slowly starting to return to normal, the Healthy Hub is now back to supporting residents with their general health and wellbeing issues.
