Norton Common Local Nature Reserve brings the countryside into the very heart of Letchworth. It’s a place for people, and wildlife, to enjoy. and is packed full of things to do for people of all ages.

Norton Common Greenspace Action Plan

The Countryside Management Services (CMS) is working with North Herts Council to draw up a new Greenspace Action Plan (GAP) for Norton Common. As part of the GAP production process, CMS is running two periods of engagement with stakeholders and the local community. The first stage of engagement will run until 12 June 2024. The briefing document providing further information can be downloaded below.

At the end of the first phase of engagement, a draft GAP will be developed and there will be a further period of engagement on this draft in early 2025. If you have any questions or would like to comment on the briefing document, contact Adolfo Gonzalez:

Friends of Norton Common

Norton Common benefits from a very active volunteer group, the Friends of Norton Common, who work to preserve the precious habitat of the Common as well as carrying out wildlife surveys. Survey results are available here: Norton Common Wildlife Surveys
