Salary - £26,712 - £40,140 per annum, dependent upon experience (Career Graded post)
North Hertfordshire District Council is a large rural district with four historic towns, Hitchin, Baldock, Royston and Letchworth Garden City, located less than 40 miles north of London. North Hertfordshire is an exciting place to live and work. Promoting sustainable growth and preparing and delivering the Local Plan for the District are key corporate priorities.
Following the submission of the Local Plan for 16,000 homes we are looking for a forward-thinking and enthusiastic Planner or Senior Planner to assist in progressing the Council’s Local Plan toward adoption. There will also be opportunities to be involved in other areas of planning policy and initiatives, such as housing, economic, transport and environmental initiatives, including neighbourhood planning.
We are looking for an individual who can take on a demanding and varied workload. A good knowledge of contemporary planning is essential. We are ideally looking for a candidate with at least two years planning experience, but will also consider exceptional candidates seeking to kick-start their planning career.
You will require a relevant Town Planning qualification and should be eligible to work towards full membership of the RTPI.
You will need to be well organised with proven verbal, written and presentation skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines. You should also possess initiative and good interpersonal skills and be familiar with IT.
