Working at the centre of the Council’s scrutiny process, you will be the Council’s Scrutiny Officer. As such, you will be responsible for the preparation, publication of agendas, decisions and minute taking for the Overview & Scrutiny Committee and providing procedural advice to ensure Scrutiny meetings are legally compliant. You will work closely with elected members, including the Chair and Vice Chair of the Overview & Scrutiny Committee, senior officers and the Committee, Member & Scrutiny Manager, providing professional advice and administrative support.
This is an interesting and varied role which requires a high level of organisational skills, with the ability to identify and adapt to changing priorities whilst working to key deadlines. If you are forward thinking, have comprehensive IT literacy skills, an excellent communicator and able to understand and apply procedure rules we want to hear from you.
There is a requirement to attend occasional evening meetings (up to 10 per year) with allowances and additional overtime payable.
