Your Role
The Council has just adopted its new Local Plan and the Council’s Strategic Planning Team is growing; this is an exciting time for an experienced, creative, and enthusiastic professional to join our team to help develop our town centres.
As the Town Centre Senior Project Officer you will be working on the future of the district’s four town centres, with responsibility for scoping and preparing town centre strategies.
You will have experience of developing strategy or policy at senior level; and have the skills to work with a range of partners and stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
As well as helping to implement the town centre policies of the adopted Local Plan, you will assist in the next review of the Plan including commissioning studies and undertaking town centre health checks working within an evolving planning system.
Additionally you will:
- Have in-depth knowledge of key areas of town centre policy, urban planning and/or regeneration.
- Project manage the delivery of schemes across the four towns
- Have experience of securing funding
- Have knowledge and understanding of the role partners like town BIDs can play in the success of a vibrant town centre
- Be an experienced and qualified team player, with membership of (or eligibility for) a relevant professional body
- Have an understanding the opportunities and challenges faced by the type of town centres in North Hertfordshire.
