Wallington - Neighbourhood Planning Area

Rushden and Wallington Parish Council applied to North Hertfordshire District Council for designation of part of the Parish, Wallington to be designated as a neighbourhood planning area under Part 2 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended).

The Wallington Neighbourhood Planning Area was designated by the Service Director - Regulatory in consultation with the Executive Member for Planning and Transport on 24 April 2020.

'Made' Neighbourhood Plan

The Wallington Neighbourhood Development Plan was made on 22 March 2024. It now forms part of the Development Plan for North Hertfordshire.

Wallington Neighbourhood Plan Referendum

A referendum for the Wallington Neighbourhood Neighbourhood Plan took place on 14 March 2024. The result of the referendum was 55 votes in favour of the neighbourhood plan with 7 votes against.

Consultation on Proposed Submission Neighbourhood Plan – Regulation 16

Rushden and Wallington Parish Council submitted their neighbourhood plan to North Hertfordshire District Council on 5 June 2023.

Consultation took place between Tuesday 18 July and 12pm on Wednesday 30 August 2023.

The plan sets out a vision for the parish and planning policies which will be used to determine planning applications within the parish.

Consultation on Pre-Submission Neighbourhood Plan – Regulation 14

The Parish Council previously consulted on a draft neighbourhood plan between 3 January and 14 February 2023. Further information is available on the Wallington Neighbourhood Plan website.

Neighbourhood Area Designation

The Wallington Neighbourhood Plan Area was designated by Cabinet on 24 April 2020. The Parish Council was the relevant body that applied for designation. A map of the neighbourhood area can be found below.
