Booking rates

The following rates apply to bookings for all events from 1 August 2022

Rates for one-off events 
Reading Room: £10.00 per hour
Main Hall: £15.00 per hour
Whole Building: £25.00 per hour

Rates for regular booking
Reading Room: £8.00 per hour
Main Hall: £12.00 per hour
Whole Building: £20.00 per hour

Children’s Party Conditions of Hire
From 1 August 2022, all parties will have use of the whole building. Ensure you select ‘All Rooms’ when making a booking request.
Weekend and evening party hire will be charged at £25 an hour – the standard rate for the whole building.

We have a £45 discounted rate for a 4 hour booking for a children’s party held on a weekday, with a finish time no later than 6pm. This is to include setting up and clearing away. This is for the Main Hall and bar only. No alcohol allowed. The 4 hour hire period must include time spent setting and clearing up. Any additional hours will be charged at standard hourly rate.

Raised stage

By hiring the whole building and opening the doors between the 2 rooms, the Reading Room becomes a stage. We have a backdrop that can be fitted to obscure the rest of the Reading Room and frame the stage. This can be hired for £50. Please include this on your booking and make sure this is highlighted in any communication with the bookings secretary.

Main Hall – 80 chairs and 12 tables approx. 75cm x 2m. Each table will seat 6-8
Reading Room – 35 chairs, 6 small tables to seat 4 and 4 large tables to seat 6-8
