Energy Company Obligation scheme
The government's Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme is designed to offset emissions created by energy company power stations. The ECO schemes have been running since January 2013 to help lower-income households improve their energy efficiency and reduce their household energy bills.
The current scheme is known as ECO4 and will run until March 2026. It focuses on improving the least energy efficient properties and targets homes with an energy rating between D and G. It aims to provide a multi-measure, whole house approach to ensure maximum carbon emission savings solely for households that receive income based benefits.
The government will introduce an ECO4+ scheme in due course, possibly later this year. This scheme is in addition to the ECO4 and it is intended for single energy efficiency measures.
We are not currently able to help with funding from the ECO4 or ECO4+ schemes.
