Beat the queues this summer with our new wristband system at the outdoor pools

With a scorcher of a summer on the cards (we hope!), Stevenage Leisure Limited (SLL) and North Herts Council will be introducing a band system for pay as you go customers at peak times during the 2023 season, at Hitchin and Letchworth Outdoor Pools.

The aim is to improve customer experience, by reducing long queues, relieving parking difficulties and allowing more people to take advantage of the pools on hot days and in the summer holidays.

The band system will be in place every day of the school summer holidays and also on hot weather days outside of the holidays. On hot days outside of the holidays, we will communicate when the system will be in place on SLL’s website and social media channels. The system will commence from 9am on the day, allowing customers entry to the facility and time to enjoy the pool for a maximum of three hours.

The wristband system works by assigning each visitor a coloured wristband. Each colour corresponds to a specific time slot, during which visitors are allowed to use the facility. This will ensure that the pools stay at a safe and comfortable capacity, and that more people will have the opportunity to enjoy the outdoor pools.

Cllr Steve Jarvis, North Herts Council’s Executive Member for Leisure said: “It’s fantastic that we have so many visitors to our outdoor pools. We are trialling this new system to give more people the opportunity to enjoy our pools this year and will keep it under review.

“Please check SLL’s website or social media channels in advance of your visit to find out if the wrist band system is in operation.”
