Easter recycling tips

Help make this Easter a waste-free celebration by recycling your Easter packaging:

  • Easter egg foil: scrunch it into a ball along with any other used foil and place it in your recycling bin.
  • Easter egg packaging: opt for Easter eggs with minimal packaging or recyclable materials. Flatten cardboard boxes before placing them in your kerbside recycling.
  • Sweet wrappers: unfortunately these aren't currently recyclable in North Herts, unless you’re taking part in the FlexCollect trial. However, many supermarkets accept them for recycling along with plastic bags.
  • Leftover Easter food: use up surplus Easter food creatively to avoid waste. Food scraps like eggshells can be composted or disposed of in your food waste caddy.
