Have your say on skate park refurb in Royston

Royston skatepark

The council, with the help of landscape architects at Groundwork East, is transforming the skate park at Newmarket Road Recreation Ground in Royston, and we want to hear from you!

Come along to the park and have your say on Thursday 8 June, 3-6pm, but if you can’t attend you can also complete a survey by 23 June.

We’re also looking to create a 'design team' of interested local users to ensure we get the best results, so please do fill out the survey and leave your contact details, you can also upload any example images of elements you would like to see included.

Councillor Steve Jarvis, Executive Member for Environment and Leisure, said: “This is a great opportunity for local people who use the skate park to tell us how they want us to refurbish and expand the current skate provision at Newmarket Road. We particularly want young people to get involved and have their say.”

Catherine Browne, Landscape Architect at Groundwork East, added: “We’d like to understand what local skaters want, and perhaps come up with a 'wish list'. We’ll then look to see what we can do with the budget available and tender an expert contractor to make the changes.”
