The council offices are now open for essential pre-booked appointments

You can now make essential pre-booked appointments at North Hertfordshire District Council (NHDC) offices. We are now taking bookings for in-person appointments to facilitate services that cannot be carried out online. You can now book an essential in-person appointment on our website or telephone our friendly customer service team who can book an appointment for you.

We are still encouraging minimising unnecessary contact where possible to keep you and our staff members safe, while also allowing you to access services in the most convenient way. As a result, you can still carry out most tasks or access the services you need online, without the need to visit us.

The council MyAccount service allows you to view your council tax account online and you can apply for a service, report a problem, or make an online payment without having to travel to our offices.

Once you have registered for MyAccounts you will be able to:

  • View a summary of your Council Tax account
  • See payments due and payments made
  • Make a secure payment or set-up a direct debit
  • Check any benefits/discounts

If you cannot deal with your request online and would like to speak to someone, we are trialling online face to face video appointments with a member of our Customer Service team. This type of appointment is for asking questions or to gather general information and can also be booked on our website.

The Council Customer Service Centre Payment Kiosk is not yet back in use. If you need to make a payment you can pay in a variety of ways such as online, at a post office or at a Payzone outlet which are in many convenient locations.
