Five greenspaces across North Herts are among the best in the UK!

Following a fire at Baldock industrial estate yesterday (11 July), bin collections for residents may be disrupted or delayed today.

A man from Royston who dumped his waste on Therfield Heath, a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), has been ordered to pay more than £1,500 in costs, after a successful council investigation.

The planning application for a residential-led development of the former Highover Farm land near Hitchin is on the agenda for the Planning Control Committee on Thursday 6 July starting at 7.30pm.

With a scorcher of a summer on the cards (we hope!), Stevenage Leisure Limited (SLL) and North Herts Council will be introducing a band system for pay as you go customers at peak times during the 2023 season, at Hitchin and Letchworth Outdoor Pools.

Thanks to a local student, there’s even more wildflower beds around the district, with about half a dozen patches currently looking gorgeous in Royston.

Please help us keep our new trees watered this summer by reusing your waste water such as dishwater, especially when it’s very hot and dry.

Advice and guidance is available to help reduce the risk of becoming unwell during hot weather.
