Dangerous Structures

A Dangerous Structure is classed as any building or structure which may cause harm to a member of the public. This may include loose roof tiles, unstable garden walls or a building that has been damaged by storms, vehicle collision or fire.

If you think a building or structure in North Hertfordshire is dangerous, please contact Hertfordshire Building Control as soon as possible. For out of hours emergencies, please contact the council's out of hours number: 0300 777 4125.

For dangerous practices or workplaces (e.g. building works being undertaken without necessary scaffolding, or factories without necessary fire escapes) please refer to the Health & Safety Executive (HSE).
