Polling stations

You cast your vote during an election at a polling station.

Shortly before an election you will receive a poll card giving the address of the polling station you should attend.

At each polling station there will be a Presiding Officer and a Polling Clerk who will issue ballot papers and check the eligibility of voters when they come in against the Electoral Register.

Voter ID

From 4 May 2023 you will need to bring photo ID with you to the polling station.

You can find your polling station here:

You can view an online map of polling stations here.

On polling day, the polling stations will be open from 7am until 10pm.

If you will not be able to attend the polling station between these times you may prefer to vote by post or appoint a proxy.
