Bulky waste refers to items too large to fit into your refuse bin.
It is usually a piece of furniture or other item that you would take with you when you move house such as beds, sofas, TVs and white goods. It is not building or DIY waste.
Could it be reused?
If the item you wish to dispose of is in a good condition and could be reused by someone else, consider donating it to a reuse organisation or a charity shop.
You can also try reuse internet sites (Freecycle, Freegle, Snaffleup, Preloved or many Facebook selling sites) where you list your item and if someone wants it they contact you.
Book a bulky waste collection
To book a collection, contact our Waste Service Contractor on 01462 474000 and choose the waste option. Make sure you have a list of the items you would like collected ready, and a credit or debit card.
Please tell us if your items include upholstered furniture (like sofas), as these may need to be collected on a separate day to other items.
Six general waste sacks comprise one bulky waste item under the service. We only collect items from households and flats.
