"Made" Neighbourhood Plan

The Pirton Neighbourhood Development Plan was made on 27 April 2018. It now forms part of the Development Plan for North Hertfordshire.


At a meeting of Cabinet on 23 January 2018, it was agreed that subject to a series of modifications set out by the examiner that the Pirton Neighbourhood Development Plan should be subject to a referendum. A referendum for the Pirton Neighbourhood Development Plan took place on 8 March 2018. The result of the referendum was 520 votes in favour of the neighbourhood plan with 18 votes against.


The Pirton Neighbourhood Plan was examined by Ann Skippers in October and November 2017.

Consultation of Proposed Submission Neighbourhood Plan (Regulation 16)

Pirton Parish Council submitted their neighbourhood Development Plan to North Hertfordshire District Council on 31 October 2016.  Consultation took place between 9 February and 23 March 2017.  The consultation documents can be viewed below and the representations received in respect of this consultation can be viewed through our online consultation software.

Consultation on Pre-Submission Neighbourhood Plan - Regulation 14

The draft Pirton Neighbourhood Plan was published for consultation between 4 April 2016 and 16 May 2016. Neighbourhood Area Designation

The Pirton Neighbourhood Plan Area was designated by Cabinet on 28 January 2014. The Parish Council was the relevant body that applied for designation. A map of the neighbourhood plan can be found below.
